Fast
with Qi-Ging Master Hou

By Chingyao Shi, Lic. OM:
Acu.
I met master Hou recently
after not seeing him for a long time. I was surprised by his wife's
and his shining face. Their skin look shinny from the inside out.
plus their light weight. I wondered what they have been eating. But
the answer is fast with Qi-gong. His name is Faxiang Hou, a local
famous Qi-ging master.
This is what they have been
doing, fast for 72 hours, two times a year with a class of people
sit together. Master hou practice Qi-gong in the room and every body
follows or they may just absorb the Qi from him. He teaches each
class four times in a sequence, two hours every time. Normally are
evenings of Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 12 noon.
Since I an helping people's
weight and keep their health for years, I was curious to know if the
fast is for the weight loss. They said the original purpose was for
body cleansing even thought it can be another powerful tool of
weight loss. Students can detoxify with many reasons: G.I problems;
Fatigue: migraine headaches; anti-aging or other chronic
conditions...
I invited Master Hou to have
a section with my patients in this office. It will be may 15th,
16th, 17th and 18th. Start at 6:30pm each day, but Sunday at 12:00
noon. He tells the students stop eating after lunch on Thursday, but
drink water. he charges $200.00 for the whole sequence. We will give
our Patients $10 discount.
What I learned from Master
Hou: Qi-gong is a slow moving exercise. people of all ages and
physical conditions can circle, balance and build Qi, and easily
perform, thereby contributing to internal strength and wholeness of
body and mind. They can expect to practice these fundamental
exercises on their own with quickly felt benefits.

Keep your weight, so keep your health
Chingyao Shi, Lic. OM; Acu.
Years ago, we have been taught that high blood pressure, high
cholesterol and high blood sugar are three common metabolism
diseases. Lately the medical progress believes that we should
put over weight into the same category. It has become the fourth
common metabolism problem. The standard of abnormally gaining
weight is to gain more than 5 lb in a short period constantly.
Many patients had weight loss treatment in this office, how to
keep your weight, so keep your health?
1.Eat frequent small meals.
You can eat 5 to 6 meals a day instead of 3. The
total food per day should be no more than 80% of your original
intake.
-
For example, breakfast: one hard boiled egg and
1 cup of coffee; in 3 hours, you may be hungry, eat a piece of
chicken breast or an apple?
-
Lunch hour, have a small lunch or have snack
throughout the afternoon (skip lunch)
-
Dinner, you can eat with family and have your
regular meal but smaller portions.
?First meal should not be later then a half hour after you get
up, this is to trigger your metabolism to start to work.
?Eat something before you go home from work, around 5 pm, this
is to ensure you are not super hungry and over eat at dinner.
?Keep whatever diet that works for you, or even if it didn't
work before, it may work after your acupuncture weight loss
treatment.
2.One day a month fast is linked to
drop in heart-disease risk
If you can do it, make one day a month "Tomato Fast",
this will be beneficial to your body. A new article from The
Philadelphia Inquire, Mon. November 19, 2007 wrote, people who
routinely skip a couple of meals in a row may be doing their
heart a favor. Researchers from Intermountain Medical Center in
Utah made a survey of 55 patients who underwent a coronary
imaging study called angiography found that those who regularly
and purposely abstained from food and drink for two meals were
39 percent less likely to be diagnosed with heart disease. The
study presented this month at an American Heart Association
meeting, speculates that fasting may improve the body's ability
to metabolize glucose

3. Repeat acupuncture weight loss
treatment in several years
Weight loss is a life long process, if this has been
helping you initially, it will help in the future. The treatment
is to strengthen the body and make it enable to burn the fat and
eliminate the waste. It is the same way that we treat patients
who suffer from metabolism disorders. It takes smaller sequence
than initial treatment. We treated many patients with the
repeated weight loss treatment in 2007, they were happy with the
results after the 5 to 6 repeated weight treatments.
